The Hater

Full-text of Palin's hateful Facebook post,
which she calls a "first salvo," is here

Hold Palin accountable for hate speech
Peter Rosenstein, Washington Blade, January 08, 2011

I add my thoughts and prayers to the outpouring of sympathy for the families of those who lost their lives and for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ family now praying for her recovery. I share the outrage that all decent people must feel today at this heinous act of violence that left so many dead and Congresswoman Giffords severely injured.

Sarah Palin and those like her using hate-filled language and symbols of violence can no longer escape responsibility for the anger and violence their words and actions incite. The time has come for everyone, on both sides of the political spectrum, to stand up to and shut down those who don’t understand what words mean and how they can incite others to violent acts. ...

  1. Sara Palin represents everything that makes America grate.

Her voice grates, her fakeness grates, her false modesty grates. But she is a true reflection of the tea party, whose 'rebellion' was not really against big government, but against the fig leaf of accountability that government sought to impose in return for bailing out the finance sector.

Far from the the early American revolutionaries, the Tea Party's true political origins can rather be found in the Illinois Nazis.

Their incitement to violence is unfortunately only to be expected. Let's hope people will see them for what they are and shun them as they deserve.

  2. I hope Sara feels and knows and understands what horror she is part of and has unleashed. Only God can try to forgive her - Certainly not me - only God will decide Sara's eventual redemption

  3. Words can wound - and in fact kill - as demonstrated in this senseless act of violence.

I agree with Genjiro - let's hold Palin accountable for her hate speech. Each of the names on this list is accompanied by a "target." How much more hateful could this be?

  4. She's trying to backpedal this, swearing they were just "surveyor symbols" even though on the night of the election she referred to them as bulls-eyes in a tweet she sent out. The bitch is sick.
